Steve has past paddling achievements on dragonboats, OC6, OC1 and OC2 in local, national and international events. He completed a lot of the shaping and sanding of the Wahtoo OC2 with Phil in Queensland. Currently paddling the Wahoo OC1 and Wahtoo OC2 in competitions on the east coast of Australia.

Along with Mark Brite, also from Mackay, Darrell won the national 25km two-man marathon title at Coffs Harbour in 2010.
